Comóradh
The National Commemoration and Historical Committee is dedicated to honouring the memory of all those who gave their lives in the pursuit of Irish freedom. We believe that remembering our past is essential to understanding who we are today and to preserving our national identity for future generations.
Through dignity, respect and historical reflection, the committee works to ensure that the sacrifices and stories of Irelands past are never forgotten.
The committee also provides a colour party at commemorations across Ireland, paying tribute to those who played a role in Irelands struggle for self determination.
We also promote a greater understanding of Irish history by organising public talks, lectures and educational events that explore significant people, events and milestones in our nations story. In addition, we celebrate Irelands rich cultural heritage through traditional ballad sessions, recognising the important role that music and song have always played in preserving our history and passing it from one generation to the next.
Poblacht Nua believe our history is more than a record of the past; it is the foundation of our identity as a nation. By remembering those who came before us, preserving our heritage and sharing their stories with future generations, we ensure that their legacy continues to inspire and that Irelands history remains a living part of our national consciousness.
